Accidents like this are fairly common with motorcycles. Because of the relative difference in size between motorcycles and most other vehicles, motorcycles are often not seen by other motorists. Drivers are looking for other cars when they are checking to see if another vehicle is coming and they sometimes just miss the motorcycles presence.
The driver of the car in this crash, though, will likely be liable for negligence because he was not driving with enough care to realize that the motorcycle was in the lane he pulled into. Fortunately, in this accident, the motorcyclist was not injured seriously. However, even moderate injuries like his may lead to other health problems later in life. These possible health problems are why it is important to get a settlement for an accident that allows you to be prepared regardless of what occurs in the future.
